How I teach
I don’t lecture, and I don’t hand out steps to memorize. I ask questions and work examples until the student finds the idea themselves. An idea you find yourself stays with you longer, so you remember more and feel more confident when a new problem shows up.
Before a session, the student sends me pictures of the problems they’re stuck on from their own page, and I work through them ahead of time, so our time goes to the hard parts. We work them together on a shared whiteboard: what I write on my iPad shows up on their screen as I write it, and they can draw on it too. We go step by step, at the student’s pace, whether the goal is a Friday quiz, a final, or just feeling less lost.
