The Girl in the Yellow Dress is a coming-of-age play about loss, healing, and family. Tal Hughes and I wrote it while we were students at Wasatch High School.
A young man is working his way through grief and growing up, and a figure in a yellow dress keeps turning up at the crossroads of his life. It’s about the people who shape us, the ones we lose, and what it takes to keep going.
It first went up in 2022 at Timpanogos Valley Theatre in Heber City. Tal and I directed it together and built the show from nothing: casting, rehearsals, the set, all of it. Yellow Dress Productions licensed it afterward.
Making this play while finishing high school taught me more about working with people than any class has.
